In 2015, Mozuud initiated Project Abraham to bring international attention to the plight of the Yazidi people, ancient, small ethno-religious community in Iraq, that is not Islamic and was, and still is, experiencing what came to be recognized as genocide by ISIS terrorists. Project Abraham helped organize private refugee sponsorship groups in Canada to rescue Yazidis and bring them to Canada. Since 2018 those privately sponsored and dozens who were government sponsored have continued to get volunteer support from Project Abraham which has incorporated separately as Mozuud RSVP, Resettlement and Support for Victims of Persecution.
