PRESS RELEASE: All Day National Teach-In

The New Taboo:
Respect for the Rule of Law in Canada

Toronto: March 25, 2019

Over 160 people participated in the inaugural All-Day National Teach-In on March 17, 2019, sponsored by the Canadians for the Rule of Law (CFTRL).  Representing the public and private sectors - education, religious institutions, government, community organizations, as well as concerned individuals-- the attendees were informed and inspired by a day-long series of panels and briefing sessions involving lawfare experts from throughout North America and Europe.

Topics included CFTRL action priorities such as lawfare, media propaganda, hate speech, terrorism and public safety, religion in the public space, and discrimination in enforcement of laws, to name a few.  The information presented in speeches and panels was a precursor to two Need for Volunteer Action Workshops which engaged and assisted the participants in volunteering for either research, advocacy and litigation. A very impressive 60 people signed up a Volunteers at one of the six computers at the very busy Volunteer Station.

One highlight of the day was the presentation of the premier CFTRL Award to Donald Carr, O.Ont., Q.C., J.D., L.H.D., TEP, for his over 60 years as leader, teacher, practitioner, counsel, mentor and voice of compassion, conscience and reason in the legal and communal spheres - domestically and internationally.

Here are some participants' comments:
